At Domestic Abuse Council, we recognize that children are deeply impacted by domestic violence and that healing must include the whole family. Our Children’s Services Program is designed to provide a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where children can begin to process their experiences, build resilience, and simply be kids again.
With the permission of their parent or guardian, trained advocates work closely with each child to understand their unique needs and provide age-appropriate support. Services include individual and group sessions that focus on emotional expression, coping skills, safety awareness, and healthy relationship development.
Through creative and engaging activities- such as play, art, and guided conversations- children are given the opportunity to explore their feelings in a non-threatening way while building confidence and a sense of stability.
Our program also supports parents by reinforcing positive parenting strategies and strengthening the parent-child connection during the healing process.
